The Taste of the Nation raises money for the New Hampshire Food Bank and gives grants to local organizations fighting hunger. It is an event that is filled with food and drinks to enjoy. Each year I attended a volunteer meeting to learn my tasks for the day of the event. On the day of the event I arrive at the site early to help set up for their event at Strawberry Bank in Portsmouth and in Manchester. It takes hundreds of volunteers the night of and a whole committee during the year to raise $140,000+ each year. We have over 1000 people in attendance and 50+ restaurants each year! The restaurants donate their time and food. Most of the money raised stays in the state of New Hampshire to the NH Food Bank and Food Pantries in the area. The other portion of the money goes back to Share Our Strength.
