The Salvation Army's Toy Shop is designed to assist needy families with gifts and a food voucher for the holiday season. As a volunteer I was paired with many parents and my job was to walk around the expo center with them to help pick out presents for their kids. Through their assistance program; they are able to assure that all children will receive at least four presents to open on Christmas morning and that everyone in the household will be able to share in a special meal that day. They serve 4,000 children and the Toy Shop provided gifts to over 1,000 families.
